"BE AWARE" - Major Project at Cambridge School of Art.
This project started with one question "HOW CAN I BRING AWARENESS ON THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA?"
"We can’t deny that social media has become a huge part of our lives. It has become this big phenomenon that keeps people that are apart more connected but also disconnects us from the real world. Social media has both positive and negative sides.
Positively being aware of what’s happening in the world, building a worldwide network, being connected with family abroad, sharing your work to the world, and much more.
Negatively, social media is affecting our mental health and it’s built to keep us hooked and addicted.
It is important to be aware of the social media we’re using and how it’s affecting us. I think it’s important as a designer to address such a problem, through Public Health England that can help bring awareness to mental health.
I hope this can bring awareness to other people too." - Gabriela
"Having grown up in Norway, Scandinavian design is a style that has always been familiar to me, however, my family is Chilean and having spent a year living there it has always been fascinating to compare and contrast the radical differences between the two cultures, both of which I feel a strong connection to. The two cultures have shaped my taste of design, and I find myself working in a minimalistic colourful way with an off-screen technique."
